Saudi Arabia, loser in EU oil game

Saudi Arabia, loser in EU oil game

If Iran feels its security is threatened, it may close the Strait of Hormuz,” Avaei said on Thursday.

Avaei said even before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Saudi Arabia tried to serve the US and other Western countries by raising oil output and keeping international oil price down, and offered compensation if a country threatened to stop oil exports.

Avaei advised the Persian Gulf littoral countries not to allow the West to determine their fate because “they [Western countries] are not loyal to any government. Arab officials [must] try to remain loyal to their own nations and respect their neighbors.”
