Iran can easily shut Hormuz Strait

In an interview with ICANA on Wednesday, Boroujerdi said that world economy is closely tied with sensitive region of Persian Gulf.

He added that Iran hopes that the west does not make a strategic mistake in imposing sanctions against Iran.

He further noted that there are some whispers about sanctions against Iran oil, but the West should know that if the region is not a safe place for Iran oil export, it won't certainly be safe for others, too.

He added that Iran strategic policy is that security of the region should be provided by regional countries and Iran, by holding such a successful exercise, is going to show that there is no need for alien presence in the region.

He continued that Iran is ready for joint work with neighboring countries and can maintain security in the region without presence of aliens.
