In a Wednesday meeting with Chairman of German Parliament's Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid Tom Koenigs in the Iranian capital, Tehran, Elahian criticized Berlin for allowing PJAK's ringleader Rahman Haj-Ahmadi to live freely in the country.

“The freedom of action of Haj Ahmadi, whose hands are stained with the blood of tens of Iranian youths, questions the human rights views of the German government,” she said.

The senior Iranian lawmaker also welcomed human rights negotiations between the Iranian and German parliaments.

Elahian lashed out at the West's double standards towards human rights in international interactions and described the issue as “a tool and pretext in the hands of the US and some European countries.”

Koenigs, for his part, expressed regret over the existing discriminatory views on human rights and called for constant negotiations for a definition of universal standards for the interests of all nations.
