Iran will counter US threats

Boroujerdi said the world should realize that Iran would not permit the US threats, such as the sanctions on the Iranian oil sector, weaken its national interests.

He added that the US has become aware of certain realities after Iran's naval forces staged massive military exercises in the Strait of Hormuz.

The maneuvers were a reminder of Iran's policy to defend the security of the Persian Gulf by regional countries, added Boroujerdi.

The legislator stated that showcasing Iran's national capabilities, despite three decades of the US and Western sanctions against the country, reveals Washington's failed policies.

It proved that no sanctions would affect Iran's national determination and potentials, Boroujerdi emphasized.

He noted that the recent Velayat 90 drills sent the message to major powers, and the US in particular, that they have to acknowledge a strong Iran.

The senior lawmaker reiterated Iran's principled policy on maintaining security in the Persian Gulf by regional countries and stressed the importance of bolstering collective cooperation to this end.
