Iran fear spurs Israel-US war games

Mehdizadeh said military drills are usually aimed at proving the defense capabilities of involved forces.

However, the US and the Zionist regime [of Israel] holding joint maneuvers in a small and limited part of the occupied territories means nothing other than they are scared,” he added on Monday.

The lawmaker said the recent Velayat 90 naval drills which were staged by Iran's Navy in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman proved the country's high military power.

The US and Israel have no need to hold military maneuvers because everyone has seen the result of their work in real wars!”

The Zionist regime has proved its military abilities by planning attacks on Gaza, Lebanon and Palestine…and the US [military power] has been [already] put to test…in real wars in Afghanistan and Iraq,” Mehdizadeh noted.

The lawmaker added that military drills are usually meant for deterrence and a show of the defensive power of the involved forces.

Therefore, there is no justification for the US maneuvers in the Middle East and in Arab territories,” he said.
