Mohammad Karim Abedi:

P5+1 should build confidence not Iran

Service : Politic
Tehran, Jan 23, (ICANA) – member of the Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Mohammad Karim Abedi says it is the P5+1--the US, UK, France, Russia, China plus Germany-- that should start building confidence with Iran instead of expecting Iran to build confidence with the West.

P5+1 should build confidence not Iran

“P5+1 talks about confidence building and asks Iran to build confidence while this must be done by them because Iran has been building confidence from the onset and all issues are clear and transparent,” Abedi said Monday.

The lawmaker added that in the upcoming negotiations with Iran, “P5+1 must explain about lack of logic and rationality…and the use of the language of force and threats against Iran.”

“No country can be accused [of anything] based on presumptions, suspicions and possibilities,” Abedi added

He stated that the P5+1 member states have been mounting constant pressure on the International Atomic Energy Agency to prevent the body from fulfilling its duties.

Abedi added that Iran has no problem with the Non-Proliferation Treaty and has moved in a peaceful way to master the nuclear fuel cycle for its domestic needs.
