Majlis mulling ban of imports from hostile countries

The plan has been prepared in response to the oil embargo that the EU imposed on Iran on January 23.

So far, 150 MPs of the Majlis have signed the plan.

After the collection of signatures, the plan will be submitted to the Majlis Presiding Board, and then the board will forward it to specialized parliamentary committees.

Afterwards, the committees will announce their views on the plan, and it will be put to a vote during an open session of the Majlis.

Following is the text of the initial draft of the five-article plan:

1. The government will be allowed to stop selling oil to the countries that initiated sanctions on Iran and the countries that are insisting on the implementation of oil sanctions on Iran.

2. The government will be allowed to place certain restrictions on European nationals travelling to our country and Iranians travelling to European countries and to work out some plans in this regard.

3. Imports of goods from the countries that imposed sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran will be banned.

4. The government will be obliged to replace the customers for its oil.

5. The government will be obliged to take the measures necessary to help produce oil derivatives.
