Ballot counting in Tehran constituency ends

TEHRAN, May 5 (ICANA) – The Interior Ministry ended counting the ballots cast in the Friday run-off elections although it has not yet announced official results of all constituencies, including Tehran.

Ballot counting in Tehran constituency ends

In Tehran constituency 50 candidates were competing with each other for a second time to win one of the remaining 25 seats left for Tehran in the run-off elections.

Unofficial sources said that the following 25 candidates have defeated their rivals in Tehran and won a seat at the parliament:

Bijan Nobaveh Vatan, Esmayeel Kosari, Ali Motahhari, Seyed Mahmoud Nabavian, Ahmad Tavakkoli, Mohammad Reza Bahonar, Seyed Mehdi Hashemi, Ali Asqar Zareyee, Fatemeh Rahbar, Alireza Zakani, Zohreh Tabibzadeh Nouri, Ruhollah Hosseinian, Hossein Mozaffar, Fatemeh Alia, Mehdi Kouchakzadeh, Gholamreza Mesbahi Moqaddam, Laleh Eftekhari, Mohammad Soleimani, Mojtaba Rahmandoust, Hamid Rasayee, Mehrdad Bazrpash, Hossein Tala, Elyas Naderan, Alireza Mahjoub and Hossein Nejabat.

Former Parliament Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel, Seyed Alireza Marandi, Seyed Mohammad Hassan Abutorabi Fard, Morteza Aqa Tehrani, and Seyed Massoud Mir Kazzemi had also earlier won five of the 30 parliament seats available for the Tehran constituency in the first round of the elections on March 2.
