Tehran, May 27, (ICANA) – Member of Iran's Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Mohammad Ashouri says the approach of the Western members of the P5+1 in their latest round of talks with Tehran in Baghdad was influenced by Israel’s anti-Iran hostility.

“The West practically lacks a clear outlook on Iran’s nuclear energy program and has always tried to portray Iran as uncooperative prior to and after each round of negotiations,” said Ashouri on Saturday.

“However, the historical fact is that the key source of obstruction during the (P5+1) talks has been the influence of the Zionist lobby on the American party in the negotiations, which also held true during the Baghdad talks,” Ashouri added.

He further pointed to the role of the powerful Western media conglomerates in promoting global publicity campaigns, on behalf of their governments, to portray the Iranian side in a negative light.

Ashouri also emphasized that the Islamic Republic presented a clear argument in the recent talks, pointing to Iran’s urgent need for the 20-percent-enriched uranium required in the production of radio isotopes for the many Iranian cancer patients and the West’s unwillingness to cooperate with the country in obtaining the fuel.
