Britain must change stance on Tehran

Britain must change stance on Tehran

“Britain has had a hostile, unfair and brazen attitude towards the Islamic Republic at the international circles over the past years and has typically been the main agent in implementing the US and Israeli plots [against Iran],” Hossein Nejabat said on Sunday.

Nejabat pointed to an agreement between Iran and Britain to open interests sections after the two countries shut down their respective embassies seven months ago and added that Tehran has also called for the reduction of ties with London because it “is fed up with Britain’s irrational attitude.”

Iran has clear, transparent policies and a strong rationale regarding ties with other countries - barring the US and the Israeli regime - and is always ready for negotiations with all states, but such ties have to be fair, marked by respect and geared toward safeguarding interests, the Iranian lawmaker pointed out.

He reiterated that Britain has always been in the frontline of confrontation with the Islamic Republic over the past 20 years and has showed widespread hostility toward Iran as it followed the US and Israeli policies.
