NAM summit in Tehran blow to West interests in Mideast

Mesri on Tuesday hailed the upcoming NAM summit in the Iranian capital city, Tehran, as a promising “turning point” for the Islamic Republic and added, “The US and other hegemonic states had concerted all their efforts to prevent the conference from taking place in Tehran.”

The Western powers, particularly the US, basically considered Tehran’s hosting of the NAM summit as a threat to their interests in the region, he pointed out.

Mesri alluded to the growing tide of Islamic Awakening across the Arab world as another major threat against the geopolitical interests of the US and the West and noted that the issue will constitute a key part of the Tehran summit.

Today, we witness that countries are being liberated from the manacles of the oppressors and the liberation of the people signifies the constant failures of the US,” the Iranian legislator said.
