Iran's nuclear rights, NAM interests interrelated

Jalali said that backing Iran's nuclear rights would guarantee the rights of the 120 developing countries grouped in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

The parliamentarian described the NAM measure to defend Tehran's peaceful nuclear activities as an action against the West's one-sided approach towards Iran.

The NAM members believe that they should actively defend nuclear rights of Iran- as a member of NAM, said Jalali, adding that if Iran is not allowed to acquire peaceful nuclear technology, the West will also prevent the movement's members from gaining it.

Jalali said NAM has been trying to play an active role in international arenas despite the western bloc's meddling.

He further said the NAM has been successful in positively affecting the global economy and politics.

About the NAM objectives, he said one of its goals is to move in a direction different from that of the US.

The parliamentarian said that the participation of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi in the 16th NAM summit in Tehran should not be politicized.

Jalali said the Tehran summit aims to find a way to end crisis in Syria.

He added that some who want reforms and changes in Syria on the basis of western scenario try to create more tension in that country.

He then referred to dialogue as a proper means to bring peace and stability back to Syria.
