"The western culture and its politicians demonstrated their stupidity and made the greatest insult to freedom and thought under the false guise of freedom of speech," Larijani said addressing an open session of the parliament here in Tehran on Sunday.

"This inhumane insistence on insulting the Messenger of God (Prophet Mohammad, PBUH) doesn't show the power of logic and persistence in freedom, rather it is more hooliganism and bullying in international politics," Larijani underscored.

They should refrain from spreading enmity by killing Muslims and suppressing their protests because they will be further caught in the fire of the Muslims’ wrath, he added.

The Majlis speaker also said that the West’s insistence on blasphemy and insulting Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is an act of political hooliganism.

Larijani expressed regret that instead of accepting the democratic systems in Muslim countries, the West is adopting measures based on “humiliation and domination,” saying the sacrilegious film and cartoons were another example of the West’s new mistake.
