Iran not deemed to attend Oscar Awards in any condition

In an interview with ICANA on Tuesday, Shojaei Kiasari said, "The boycott of the ceremony was a convincing response to the production of the recent controversial film in the United States which insulted the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)."

Referring to the US influential role in facilitating the production of the movie, he said, "Iran was expected to show its protest to such sacrilegious act and the boycott of 2013 Oscar Awards is regarded as one of the best methods to express Iranian society's resentment to the film."

"Although it is regarded as a prestigious venue for offering Iranian films to the international audience, Iran will not participate in such a ceremony under any circumstance," he added.
