Bakhshayesh criticizes Arabs for recognizing Syrian opposition

Bakhshayesh warned on Tuesday that the Arab League and the [Persian] Gulf Cooperation Council should not provide more room for the opposition to stoke crisis in Syria by supporting the SNCROF.

“Despite the Arabs’ unbridled support for this coalition, terrorist groups opposing the government of [President Bashar] al-Assad would not succeed in Syria,” the MP added.

The Iranian legislator stated that the Western governments are triggering crisis in Syria in order to vent their frustration with the growing wave of Islamic Awakening in the Middle East.

“The West is trying to tell Iran that its ally (Syria) is bogged down in domestic crisis,” he noted.

The lawmaker warned the ongoing “war of attrition” in Syria would harm the unity of Muslims. “The Arab heads of state have no unified position and they cannot adopt a single stance vis-à-vis the regional events. They should keep in mind that a war of attrition in Syria would only inflict damage on Muslims.”
