UN and Iran's views on Syria, converging

In an interview with ICANA on Tuesday, Boroujerdi said, "UN secretary General Ban Ki-Moon's recent remarks on Syrian crisis indicates that the international body is becoming more and more convinced about the need to prevent the militarization of the crisis in Syria."

Referring to Western and Arab countries' continuous efforts to support the Syrian rebels, he said, "Backed by the West and the Arabs, the rebels in Syria are continuing with their terrorist operation to gain more privileges from the Syrian government."

Boroujerdi also noted that Turkey has obviously retreated from some of its previous stances on Syria and other countries will also follow suit and they are expected to revise their positions on the crisis.
