In a press conference on Monday, Larijani noted that Iran believes Syria should become more democratic, but Tehran is against military approaches.

“We cannot accept that countries which do not have democratic experiences bear the flag of democracy in Syria,” Larijani said, adding that Iran believes in finding a political resolution to the Syria crisis.

Iran Majlis speaker stated that those who think they can change the situation in Syria by sending arms into the country are mistaken.

Larijani said the Syrian officials are determined to find a political resolution to crisis, adding that any solution which would strengthen democracy in Syria and stop massacre would be acceptable.

The Iranian lawmaker noted that Tehran is ready to help those Syrian opposition groups which do not seek to implement reforms in Syria by arms.

“We have also held talks with them,” he added.
