"The world power structure is after isolating independent states, therefore, independent and freedom-seeking nations are necessitated to form a powerful block in different political, economic and cultural arenas through unity and sympathy," Jalali said in a meeting with Chairman of the Vietnamese Parliament's Defense and National Security Commission Nguyen Kim Xua here in Tehran on Tuesday.

The Vietnamese lawmaker, for his part, hailed Iran for its astonishing achievements in different fields, and stressed his country's enthusiasm for expanding ties with Tehran and attaining Iran's experiences.

He further described Iran as a powerful actor in international peace and security, which assists the oppressed people of the world. He also praised Iran as the best choice for leading the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Kim Xua also earlier held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in Tehran during which Salehi underlined the necessity for the further expansion of relations between Iran and Vietnam.
