Tehran, Dec 30, (ICANA) – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said reforms in Syria comes solely through talks between Syrian groups.

Larijani calls for talks between Syrian groups

Larijani, in a meeting with visiting Algeria parliamentarian Ibrahim Bouliheh here on Saturday underlined necessity of finding a political and diplomatic solution to settle Syrian problem.

He added that reforms in Syrian cannot be achieved through dispatching weapons and killing innocent people.

Reminding Iranians' positive view on Algerian nation, Larijani said Iran has always viewed Algerian nation as a friend.

He stressed that Majlis welcomes any kind of efforts to increase politico-economic cooperation with Algeria.

Underlining current sensitive situation in the region, the speaker said that constant consultations between officials of the two countries on important regional and international issues, especially Palestine, is necessary and that Islamic states should have more and closer interaction to defend rights of the oppressed people of Palestine.

Ibrahim Bouliheh, who is head of foreign Affairs committee in Algerian parliament, by referring to common cultural and historical points between the two nations, said that belief in Islam and struggle against colonialism are two main characteristics of the two nations.

He said Algerian government and people welcome development of relations with Iran.

He added viewpoints of both countries in international and regional issues are very close with each other, adding that cooperation between the two countries will help solve regional problems, especially problems in the Islamic world.
