Any talks with US should fulfill Iran's interests

If Iran's national interests are met then Iran would study the possibility for direct negotiations with the US again, Boroujerdi said on Monday.

He noted that Washington has raised enthusiastic demands for bilateral talks with Tehran because it is well aware of Iran's influential role in the region.

"The Americans insisted on holding direct talks with Iran before recent presidential election in the country, and they are still interested in doing so because they know the Islamic Republic of Iran has the final say in the region."
