Kayeedi, Belarusian envoy discuss expansion of Tehran-Minsk ties

Tehran, Jan 14, (ICANA) – Head of Iran-Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group Ali Kayeedi and Belarusian Envoy to Tehran Victor Rybak explored avenues for the further expansion of relations between the two countries.

During the meeting held in Tehran on Monday evening, the Iranian lawmaker described the two countries' ties as "growing", and underlined the necessity for a better use of the existing capacities to improve bilateral relations.

"Strengthening and reinvigorating friendly contacts between Iran and Belarus plays an effective role in the development and progress of the two countries," Kayeedi stated, and stressed that the Iranian parliament supports stronger ties between Tehran and Minsk.

Rybak, for his part, felicitated establishment of Iran-Belarus Friendship Group in the Iranian parliament, and voiced his country's willingness to further expand ties and cooperation with Iran.

"Activities of the parliamentary friendship groups play an important role in the strengthening of the two countries' friendly relations," the envoy noted.
