Syrian opposition's new offer meant to gain privileges

In an interview with ICANA on Tuesday, Sheikholesalm said, "After more than two years of armed fighting and terrorist acts against the Syrian people and government, opposition leader Maaz al-Khatib is now dubiously calling for the start of negotiations with the government."

"This indicates that the opposition has become disappointed with military option and it is looking for more peaceful method to realize its objectives."

"This new tactic is only meant to gain more privileges from the government and it should not be regarded as a genuine offer for peace and tranquility in Syria," he added.
