Tehran, Feb 14, (ICANA) – Chairman of Iran's Majlis Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi says a string of deadly attacks mainly against Shia Muslims in Iraq is aimed at weakening the resistance front, stressing that terrorists seek to wage tribal wars in the country.

“The players who intended to make political changes in Syria by imposing a crisis over the past 22 months are now pursuing the policy of transferring this crisis to Iraq,” Boroujerdi said on Wednesday.

“The countries involved in the Syrian crisis have entered Syrian mercenaries into the Syrian territory and transferred a large amount of weapons to the country and are now thinking of fanning the flames of tribal wars among different Iraqi religions and tribes,” he explained.

Boroujerdi added that the terrorists have been transferred from Syria to Iraq.

He stated that the recent series of bombings in Iraq are led by certain countries in the region, which played an active role in exacerbating the crisis in Syria.

Boroujerdi emphasized that Iraq’s security is very important to its neighboring countries and its allies such as Iran, Syria and Lebanon. So, the regional countries which are allied with the US and the Israeli regime intend to cause a crisis in Iraq, he added
