Asafari said that Iran is a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and western powers should recognize Iranˈs nuclear rights including right to enrich uranium.

Asafari who is a member of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iranˈs Majlis (parliament) pointed to Ayatollah Khameneiˈs Fatwa (Islamic decree) forbidding the test, production and stockpiling of nuclear weapons and said ˈWe have repeatedly announced that we are not after producing nuclear weapons and condemn any kind of using such weapons.ˈ

If G5+1 insists on its demands from Iran to give up its nuclear rights ˈWe may revise our views and postpone negotiations.ˈ
