Tehran, April 14, (ICANA) - Vice-chairman of Iran's Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Ahmad Reza Dastgheib says the efforts by the [Persian] Gulf Cooperation Council ([P]GCC) to label the Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah as a terrorist group is an Israeli scenario.

Dastgheib said the plot against Hezbollah has been hatched by Israel, noting, “The Arab countries must know that such forms of behavior are not good for their international image.”

“By taking this measure, they are playing in the Zionist regime’s (Israel) court, because Hezbollah is on the frontline of fighting against the [Israeli] regime,” Dastgheib said.

“Undermining Hezbollah will weaken and jeopardize the interests of the Arab states in the region and, the rulers of these countries should avert this with vigilance,” the Iranian lawmaker pointed out.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Dastgheib underscored the need for a comprehensive and universal definition of terrorism, saying, “The definition of terrorist activities has turned into a tool for many countries to divert the public opinion toward their favored direction.”
