New US sanctions on Syria "psychological warfare"

Speaking to ICANA about the US move, Esmaeili dismissed the US claim about Iran's arms support for Syria, and said that Washington seeks to wage psychological war on Syria by raising baseless and fabricated allegations.

"With its advanced military equipments and a classic army, the government of Assad does not need the military tools and equipments of the other countries," he stressed, and added that the failure of the rebel forces in their fight against the Syrian army has pushed their supporters to raise false allegations against Damascus.

As regards the US sanctions, Esmaeili said that the US move was part of its psychological operations to cover up the crimes committed by those who are seeking to fulfill the West's demands in Syria.
