Larijani calls for expansion of ties between Iran and S. Korea

Tehran, May 27, (ICANA) – Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that amicable relations between Iran and South Korea should not be effected by policies adopted by major global powers.

Larijani calls for expansion of ties between Iran and S. Korea

Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with Head of South Korea-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group Lee Sang-min here in Tehran.

Larijani pointed to the necessity for Iran and South Korea to expand bilateral relations, especially in parliamentary affairs and said, "Iran and South Korea have enjoyed historical and strong relations and the Islamic Consultative Assembly supports any effort meant to strengthen bilateral relations in the fields of commerce, economy and technology."

Larijani further emphasized on the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is against any form of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Lee Sang-min, for his part, said that both Iran and South Korea have made huge technological progress over the past years and there are huge capacities for expansion of ties between the two countries.
