Tehran, June 10, (ICANA) – Member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mohammad Saleh Jokar lambasted certain Arab countries for their politically-driven stances against Iran's first nuclear power plant in the Southern port city of Bushehr, and said these are baseless allegations dictated on these countries by the West.

"Certainly, such measures of the Arab countries are adopted in line with (the West's) Iranophobia plots in the region," said in an interview with ICANA on Monday.

He criticized the Persian Gulf Arab states for their politically-tainted positions against Iran, and said, "If Arabs are concerned about the environment, they should speak about the presence of the western states' warships in the Persian Gulf" whose fuel pollution has endangered the regional environment.

"Certainly, the baseless remarks of such countries are merely made on the basis of political issues (ambitions) and are void of technical and specialized aspects," Jokar underlined.
