Anti-Iran claim by Egypt's interim government, blame game

“The claim about the Islamic Republic of Iran’s meddling in Egypt’s domestic affairs is just to shift the blame [for the unrest in Egypt to others] and our country has had no role whatsoever in the recent developments in Egypt,” said Seyyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini.

His comments come after two statements by Egypt’s interim government over the past week accusing Iran of meddling in the North African country.

Naqavi-Hosseini added, “The Islamic Republic has always supported the wave of Islamic Awakening across the Middle East and North Africa and it has stood by the nations, so that they can achieve their legitimate demands.”
