FATF should be ratified in parliament to be executive

Islamic Consultative Assemble News Agency – "Execution of FATF destroys the financial independence of Iran and it strictly must be reviewed", declares Hedayat ollah Khademi MP representing BaqMalek and Izeh electoral district.

Khademi a member of Energy Commission in the Iranian Parliament criticizing contracting FATF confidentially by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance says: this and the other contracts should be ratified in the open session of the parliament.

The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has vowed to protect people’s banking information in transactions with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

The governor of CBI, Valiollah Seif, said Tuesday that Iranians’ bank accounts information will remain safe and will not be passed on to FATF in exchanges with the policy-making body of the international financial system.

The Financial Action Task Force (on Money Laundering) (FATF), is an intergovernmental organization founded in 1989 on the initiative of the G7 to develop policies to combat money laundering. It monitors countries' progress in implementing the FATF Recommendations by ‘peer reviews’ (‘mutual evaluations’) of member countries. The FATF Secretariat is housed at the headquarters of the OECD in Paris.
