Hashemi was a man of hard times

Islamic Consultative Assembly News Agency – "(But give good tidings to the patient, who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return") - Verses 155 and 156 Surah al Baqarah [2:155-156] – A great man descended from forerunners of the Islamic Revolution rushed to the remaining land; Hashemi's name has been always along with the name of revolution 1979", said Ali Ardashir Larijani the Iranian Parliament's speaker in an open session of Parliament.

"Imam Khomeini's movement became pervasive and universal with efforts of such persons; he [Akbar Hashemi Bahramani Rafsanjani] chased the ideals of Imam [Seied Ruhollah Mousavi Mostafavi Khomeini] with fighting times against the Monarchy regime; He tolerated prisons and tortures so that the fighter clergy current could reinforce itself to help the masses of Islamic Nation", continued current chairman of the Parliament of Iran.

Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani or Hashemi Bahramani was an architect of the Islamic Revolution and writer, who was the fourth President of Iran from 3 August 1989 until 3 August 1997.

(And Allah invites to the Home of Peace and guides whom He wills to a straight path) [Verse 25 Surah Yunus\Jonah or 10:25] said Ali Ardashir Larijani "Islamic Consultative Assembly says solace the demise of brave mujahed Ayatollah Hashemi Bahramani Rafsanjani to Muhammad ibn Hasan al-Mahdī (Hujjat bin Hassan) [PBUH], the Supreme Leader of revolution, the great Marjas, the great nation of Iran and respectable family of the deceased and also honorable people of Kerman"

[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]." (Verse 46 Surah al Hijr or 15:46).

Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, president of Iran from 1989 to 1997, died in hospital in Tehran after a heart attack, Iran's state television reported. He was 82 years old.

Born in 1934, Rafsanjani studied theology in Qom. He was one of the leaders of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran which overthrew the Shah to make Iran a religious republic. He was the first to hold, for nine years, the speakership of the post-revolution Iranian parliament. Rafsanjani was also appointed top representative of supreme leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini on the supreme defense council, effectively Iran's military commander-in-chief in 1988 for the end of the Iraq-Iran war.

The year after the end of Iran-Iraq war, Rafsanjani became president and led the country in post-war reformation and improving relations with other Arab nations. Rafsanjani was elected for a second term and served as president till 1997. In 2005, Rafsanjani participated in the presidential election, but lost to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
