Iraq could not pay financial compensation to Iran \ Iran demands exclusive presence in Iraq in return for compensation

Islamic Consultative Assembly News Agency – Jalil Rahimi Jahan Abadi on how to demand war reparations from Iraq: Eight-year war imposed on our people by a government that no longer exists but a popular government is responsible for administration and there is no relation between the militant and warlike state and the state which is now ruling.

Jalil who is now representing Torbate-Jam, Taibad and Bakzar in the current period of Islamic Consultative Assembly: It seems that popular government of Iraq does not have any responsibilities in response of the actions of Baath government and party.

"In international laws there are hints and tips on succession of States in a country so if debts, liabilities and damages do not have public aspects the alternative government does not have any responsibility for malfunctions" said Jalil Rahimi Jahan Abadi.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq share a long border (the longest border by far for both nations) and an ancient cultural and religious heritage; Iran has an embassy in Baghdad and four consulate generals in Basrah, Sulaymaniyah, Arbil and Karbala. Iraq has an embassy in Tehran and three consulate generals in Kermanshah, Ahvaz and Mashhad.
