Lawmaker: Trump seeks to create division between Iraqi and Iranian people

Tehran, March 4, ICANA – An Iranian lawmaker said here on Saturday that the US President Donald Trump is pursuing a divisive policy by remove Iraq’s name from the list of the Muslim countries included in his controversial entry ban.

Talking to ICANA, Mohammad Javad Jamali Nobandegani, who is also a member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said Trump is running after creating division between the Iraqi and Iranian people.

He also described Trump’s immigration order and his plan for a constructing US-Mexico border wall as a symbol of extremism.

On January 28, Trump signed an executive order that barred entry for people from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen for 90 days and imposed a 120 day halt on all refugee resettlement programs.
