Iranian lawmaker censures UAE 'immature' policies on regional issues

Gholam-Ali Jafarzadeh Imenabadi, head of the Iranian delegation to the 136th Assembly of IPU underway in Dhaka said the UAE representative’s remarks signified irresponsibility and immaturity of that Arabic country.

He described the UAE anti-Iran remarks as incorrect and baseless.

The lawmaker underlined that the policies the UAE has adopted on the present regional crises including Syria and Yemen have demonstrated the country’s immaturity and its irresponsibility toward the regional questions.

He added the envoy of Abu Dhabi incorrectly accuses Iran of meddling in the internal affairs of other countries, while his country bombards the innocent Yemenis with its fighters.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is keen on removal of tensions and expansion of friendly relations with all Persian Gulf littoral states,” the lawmaker added.

Jafarzadeh-Imenabadi said the Islamic Republic of Iran has always tried to have superior and friendly ties with its neighbors as well as the countries in the Persian Gulf region.

He concluded as saying that once again, Iran extend its invitation and express its willingness to hold talks to eliminate the misunderstandings and renew the friendly relations.

The Iranian parliamentary delegation headed by Jafarzadeh-Imenabadi arrived in the Bangladeshi capital on Saturday (April 1) to take part in the 136th Assembly of the IPU and its related meetings on April 1-5.

IPU, an international organization, is established in 1889. Its purpose is to hold international parliamentary talks in order to settle peace and security and promote democracy around the world.
