Boroujerdi: Iran, Russia not sit quietly after US missile attack on Syria

Tehran, April 7, ICANA - Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi said here on Friday that undoubtedly Russia and Iran would not sit quietly following the US military attack on Syria.

The Iranian lawmaker made the remarks in an interview with ICANA.

Touching upon on US missile attack on Syrian airfield in response to the alleged use of chemical weapons in Khan Shaykhun near Idleb, Boroujerdi underscored that all the world know that Syria has been disarmed of its chemical weapons under an agreement with the United Nations.

He added Syrian government does not have any chemical weapons.

Referring to the liberation of the northern city of Aleppo, he said the Syrian army is in the best situation and does not need to use the chemical weapons.  

He stressed that the winner of war usually do not use chemical weapons and Syria has already been disarmed of its chemical weapons.

Broujerdi reiterated that terrorists have shown in the past that they have no qualms about the use of chemical weapons.

Touching upon the US and its European allies’ defeats in Syria in the past six years, he added they are accusing the Syrian government to cover up the public opinion and trying to announce the case in the UN security Council.

Referring to the recent US missile attack on Syria, he said unquestionably the move would have serious consequences.
