A member of Parliament's Judicial and Legal Commission Ali Bakhtiar made the remarks in an interview with ICANA.

Touching upon the US’ supports from the MKO in recent years, the lawmaker said this group is considered as a terrorist group in the international arena.

Bakhtiar reiterated that MKO has carried out numerous terrorist attacks against Iranian civilians and government officials over the past three decades.

Pointing to the US supports from the terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria, the lawmaker censured the US and some Western countries’ double-standard approaches in dealing with the issue of terrorism.

He added the US has labeled the Lebanon resistance movement Hezbollah who is defending its country as a “terror group” and had removed MKO from its so-called black list.

The approaches of US and its allies indicate that these countries are using the issue of terrorism as a tool to achieve their objectives, Bakhtiar said.

The Republican US Senator John McCain has recently met with the head of MKO Maryam Rajavi in the Albanian capital, Tirana.
