Talking to ICANA, Hossein-Ali Haji Deligani said Iranians will be attending this year’s Hajj after Saudi officials agreed to make the necessary arrangements for Iranian pilgrims to participate in the rituals.

Thanks to Iran’s pivotal role in the region, the lawmaker underlined that the Saudi Arabia invited the Iranian side to attend the negotiating table on resumption of Hajj rituals.

He also urged Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and Foreign Ministry to peruse the compensation of the victims of a deadly crush during Hajj pilgrimage rituals fron Saudi Arabia.

At least 465 Iranian pilgrims lost their lives during the deadly crush, which occurred after two large masses of pilgrims converged at a crossroads in Mina near Mecca during Hajj rituals on September 24, 2015.
