Lawmaker: Pakistan should boost security at its border areas

A member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Morteza Safari Harandi made the remarks in an interview with ICANA.

He added the Islamic Republic of Iran is doing its best to boost security at its border areas, adding that it is expected that the neighboring countries do necessary measures for securing their borders.

Touching upon the recent Iran-Pakistan border incident, the lawmaker underlined that Pakistan should do necessary measure for expanding its border areas as soon as possible.

He added Iran diplomatic apparatus is also expected to deal firmly with Pakistani government to prevent the repetition of such incidents.

At least ten Iranian border guards were martyred by terrorists near Pakistan border in southeastern province of Sistan-Balouchestan on April 26, while patrolling at the zero border point. The terrorists fled to Pakistan’s territories after killing the Iranian border guards in an ambush.
