Talking to ICANA, Jalal Mirzaei expressed hope that the meeting could lead to prevention of massacring innocent people in Syria.

He added so far proper decisions have been made in the meeting, underscoring that some certain countries are meddling in Syrian domestic affairs and supporting terrorist groups in this war-hit country.

It seems that US president Donald Trump’s team has not yet made its mind regarding Syrian issue, he added.

The lawmaker underlined that US foreign policy is based on Zionist and Saudi regimes points of view in the Middle East.

The latest round of Astana Peace Talks was held on May 3-4 with the participation of armed groups. The event ended by signing a document which approved creation of four de-escalation zones in Syria’s northwestern province of Idlib, in parts of Homs province in the centre, in the south and in the opposition enclave of Eastern Ghouta near Damascus to separate extremist groups from moderate oppositions.
