US, western countries trying to challenge Syria de-escalation zones draft resolution

Heshmatollah Falahatpishe a member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission made the remarks in an interview with ICANA.

Recently Moscow, with backing from Ankara and Tehran, brokered the deal for establishing de-escalation zones in mainly militant-held areas of Syria during ceasefire talks in the Kazakh capital city of Astana.

The lawmaker underscored that the deal would play a pivotal role in establishing peace and tranquility in Syria.

Thanks to Tehran and Ankara efforts to meet that end, Falahatpishe said, Moscow as a holder of veto power at the United Nations Security Council is trying to give an international aspect to the draft resolution.
