Iran’s Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission spokesman Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said both the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and Majlis ratification have forecasted measures to deal with any default on the side of 5+1 Group of countries and Zarif's letter was part of this measures.

Commenting on the effect of sending the letter, Naqavi Hosseini underscored that it is not the first time that Tehran has sent a letter to Mogherini.

The lawmaker stressed that Iran should follow legal and political measures regarding the US violation.

Zarif told reporters on June 12 upon arriving in Oslo airport and in response to a question regarding possible new sanctions against Iran in the US Senate that, 'The issue was discussed in the last joint commission, and it will be explored in the upcoming session,” referring to the commission which monitors the implementation of the nuclear agreement singed in 2015 between Iran and major powers of the world, known as Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany).
