Washington not determined to tackle terrorism: Amir-Abdollahian

Tehran, June 21, ICANA - Majlis Speaker Special Aide for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that the US is not determined in tackling terrorism, but it is deceiving regional countries.

Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Mexico’s new ambassador to Iran, Jose Alfonso Zegbe.

Voicing pleasure over rising trend of mutual ties, he said that the two countries have plentiful capacities which can be used in line with expanding parliamentary exchanges.

Touching upon the current regional developments, he described terrorism as the biggest challenge facing the Middle East. He added that terrorism that has gained bigger dimensions due to the support of certain countries, Saudi Arabia inparticulare.

He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes development of international cooperation in Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Zegbe, for his part, referred to excellent ties between Iran and Mexico in various sectors, saying that good parliamentary ties can leave positive impact on exchanges in other arenas.
