Amir-Abdollahian: No evidence proving martyrdom of kidnapped Iranian diplomats

Tehran, July 5, ICANA – Iran’s parliament (Majlis) speaker special aid Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed that the Iranian diplomats and journalist kidnapped in Lebanon in 1982 are at present in the Israeli prisons.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian wrote in his telegram account that there is no evidence proving their martyrdom.

The  UN and Red Cross Society should seriously restart their efforts to decide the fates of Mohsen Mousavi, Ahmad Motavasselian, Kazem Akhavan and Taqi Rastgar-Moqaddam, he added.

Iranian Parliament (Majlis) will soon commence new measures in line with attempts to decide the fates of the revolutionary diplomats and journalist, said Amir-Abdollahian.


On July 4, 1982, Ahmad Motavasselian, Mohsen Mousavi and Taqi Rastgar-Moqaddam, three diplomats of Iranian Embassy in Lebanon, along with Kazem Akhavan, IRNA’s photojournalist were held captive by the Lebanese Phalange forces on their way to work on the route of Tripoli-Beirut.
