Talking to ICANA, Mohammad Javad Jamali Noubandegani said the move would create several security crises in the Middle East.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has also voiced Tehran’s opposition to a “unilateral” plan by Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region to hold an independence referendum, underscoring the significance of maintaining integrity and stability in the Arab country.

“The principal and clear position of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to support Iraq’s territorial integrity and solidarity,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said.
