Larijani: Tehran keen on expanding economic ties with Seoul

Tehran, Aug 5, ICANA– Majlis speaker Ali Larijani said on Friday that Iran is interested in expanding economic ties with South Korea.

Larijani made the remarks in a joint press conference with his South Korean counterpart Chung Sye-kyun.

He underscored that grounds are well prepared to establish banking and investment ties between two countries.

Larijani underlined that fortunately, Tehran and Seoul have held fruitful talks on parliamentary and economic relations.

Iran is fully ready to speed up cooperation in energy, transportation, environment and new technologies arenas, Larijani added.

Sye-kyun, for his part, referred to the good negotiation between the two countries on the sidelines of the second meeting of Eurasian Parliament Speakers held last month.

He added Seoul is keen on developing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) cooperation.

Sye-kyun arrived in Tehran on Friday to attend President Hassan Rouhani's swearing-in ceremony slated to be held on Saturday.
