Larijani calls for expansion of Iran-Ghana ties

Tehran, Aug 6, ICANA – Iranian Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani said Iran and Ghana should employ all potentials to expand economic cooperation.

Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Ghanaian Second Deputy Parliament Speaker Alban S. K. Bagbin in Tehran.  

He also urged for boosting trade exchanges between the two nations.

Larijani underlined that the two courtiers can promote ties in the areas of economy and energy.

Touching upon the visit by the Ghanaian delegation to Tehran to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Larijani said the trip would lead to expansion of economic ties between the two nations.

He added Iran and Ghana can enjoy broad cooperation in petrochemical, natural gas and oil sectors.

Voicing Iran willingness to invest in agricultural projects in this African country, Larijani said as per Iran’s foreign policy, the Islamic Republic of Iran is keen on developing its ties with African countries.

For his part, Bagbin said the visit by the Ghanaian delegation from Iran is an indication of deep relations between the two countries.

He added the parliamentary relations would lead to expansion of bilateral ties in other areas, the economic fields in particular.
