The Australian made the remarks in a meeting with the head of Iran-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group Mahmoud Sadeqi.

The diplomat said Canberra considers the historic nuclear deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as an opportunity for Iran’s progress and establishing peace in the region.

He also called for promotion of mutual cooperation in political, economic and parliamentary arenas.

The Australian government and Parliament attaché great importance to expansion of cooperation with Iran, Biggs said.

He also underlined continuation of consular talks between the two capitals to help solve problems facing Iranian migrants in Australia and bolster communications between the two countries’ scientific and academic centers.
