Boroujerdi urges appropriate measures for ending Myanmar Muslims genocide

Tehran, Sep 12, ICANA – A senior Iranian lawmaker urged appropriate measures by the Muslim countries to end the genocide in Myanmar.

Chairman of Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi made the remarks in an interview with ICANA.

Touching upon the recent remarks of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s over the genocide in Myanmar, the lawmaker said Iran Majlis (Parliament) is to hold an extraordinary session to address the plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar on Wednesday.

The MP also called for taking back the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Myanmar’s de facto leader Aung Sang Suu Kyi for her crackdown on the Rohingya.

He also strongly criticized the silence of the global community over the plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
