Addressing an internal meeting in the Iranian Parliament (Majlis), Larijani described as 'ridiculous' anti-Iran remarks, accusing the Islamic Republic of backing terrorism.

He stressed that such unfounded accusations are aimed at affecting the global public opinion, underscoring that accusing Iran of supporting terrorism, is ridiculous.

Larijani underlined that how it is possible for the Islamic Republic of Iran to tackle Daesh terrorists in Syria and Iraq, and at the same time try to support them.

Touching upon the Iraq's eight-year imposed war against Iran in the 1980s, Larijani said that all the world big powers and their allies waged a war against Iran.

Referring to anti-Iran accusations, he said that US should be ashamed of itself for leveling such accusations against the Islamic Republic.

Recently-revealed documents show it was the US, and other Western and regional countries, encouraged and supported the deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam to invade the Islamic Republic of Iran.
