Talking to ICANA, Shahrouz Barzegar Kolshani a member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said Iraq’s neighboring countries are not satisfied with the recent Kurdish secession referendum in this Arab country.

Touching upon the endeavors’ for uprooting terrorism in the region, the MP said the ground should not be paved for resumption of terrorists’ atrocities in the region.

On September 25, the Kurdistan Regional Government held the non-binding referendum on secession from Iraq in defiance of stiff opposition from the central government in Baghdad and much of the international community. Kurdish officials said over 90 percent of voters said ‘Yes’ to separation from Iraq.
